Awareness programs

Orchi has been instrumental in generating awareness among the underprivileged populace of the society on health issues, need for quality education

Counselling

Orchi has been active in counselling families of the underprivileged society to settle their disputes and other family matters.

Financial support

Orchi spearheaded financial support to needy children of the underprivileged segment towards their educational pursuit.

Workshops

ORCHI encourages learning through drama workshops, art & craft workshops etc. as they stimulate channels of alternative employment opportunities.

2003 onwards we were active in organizing different welfare events such as:

  • Education project – To introduce the value of education among the backward people of the society to counsel them and to send back the children to school again.
  • Hope for Children – To attract and involve the children, even the school drop-outs in singing, dancing, painting, craft etc. for a quality learning and to explore their natural skills and give them a chance to enjoy their childhood in a better and healthy way.
  • Celebrating Important Days – With the children, member and supporters 'ORCHI' has been observing some special days throughout the year 2003 onwards such as, 25th Baisakh (Tagore’s birth day), 15th August (Independence Day), 5th June ( World Environment Day), 8th March (Women’s Day), 13th May (Mothers Day), 8th September (World Literacy Day).
  • Annual Sports – Sports events were organized with distressed children mainly from less privileged children.
  • Blood Donation Camps and Mobile Health Checkups– Every year blood donation camp and mobile medical centres were organized. The health team collected blood sample for a better purpose on 7th April, World Health Day. The health team also organised mobile health checkups and medical treatment for basic and common problems by registered medical practitioners along with distribution of some general medicines to the distressed people.
  • Anti AIDS Campaigning - Annual anti-AIDS camps were organized from 2006 onwards, which was followed by a film show on first December the World AIDS Day.
  • Vocational Training Programe – This is training for women to make them independent economically by their known knowledge for teaching and embroidery and also special crash Basic computer course for those who can cope-up.
